ScamShield AI is designed to help people review suspicious messages with a privacy-first approach. It provides educational guidance only and does not guarantee scam detection, fraud prevention, money recovery, legal protection, or official verification.

1. Who we are

2. What ScamShield AI does

ScamShield AI helps users identify potential scam warning signs in pasted text, emails, direct messages, links, or similar content. The app may show risk labels, warning signs, next safe steps, reporting guidance, and family/trusted-contact sharing options.

3. Messages are not saved by default

Pasted messages are reviewed only when you choose to check them. ScamShield AI does not save pasted message text by default. Saved analysis is optional and, by default, saved locally on your device.

4. Enhanced analysis is optional

ScamShield AI may offer an optional enhanced analysis mode. When enabled, message text may be sent to secure processing systems for review. When enhanced analysis is off, ScamShield AI uses local safety checks where available.

5. Sensitive information

ScamShield AI may warn you before analyzing messages that appear to contain passwords, verification codes, account numbers, Social Security numbers, card details, or other private identity information. You should avoid pasting unnecessary sensitive information unless you are using an official trusted channel.

6. Saved analysis and trusted contacts

Saved analysis and trusted contact information are optional. Trusted contacts are stored locally on your device by default. ScamShield AI never sends messages automatically. Shared summaries exclude the original pasted message by default unless you explicitly choose to include it.

7. We do not sell user data

ScamShield AI does not sell user data. ScamShield AI does not use pasted message content for advertising or marketing resale.

8. Official-channel verification

ScamShield AI may be wrong. Always verify suspicious messages through official websites, official apps, account statements, published phone numbers, banks, card issuers, government agencies, law enforcement, or other appropriate official channels. Do not rely on links or phone numbers inside suspicious messages.

9. Reporting and emergency guidance

ScamShield AI may provide educational reporting guidance, such as contacting your bank or card issuer, reporting suspected fraud to the FTC, reporting cybercrime to IC3, or contacting local law enforcement. ScamShield AI does not file reports for you and does not contact organizations on your behalf.

10. No guarantees

ScamShield AI does not guarantee scam detection, fraud prevention, money recovery, legal protection, or official verification. The app is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, law-enforcement, banking, or government reporting advice.

11. Data security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect user information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should avoid sharing unnecessary passwords, verification codes, financial information, or identity details.

12. Children and family use

ScamShield AI may be used by families to help discuss suspicious messages. Parents and guardians should supervise minors and should not allow children to submit private personal, financial, or account information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ScamShield AI changes. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
